Lead Product Designer

Position Summary

As Lead Product Designer at Ribbiot, you will have the opportunity to be part of a revolutionary team that is transforming the way businesses manage their equipment and workflows. You’ll have the chance to help shape our cloud-based platform that simplifies and digitizes existing complex operations, so customers can interact with their physical equipment more easily. You will work closely with Product Management to help define feature requirements, create user flows & interfaces, and coordinate closely with Engineering to ensure concepts are clearly communicated, understood, and properly implemented.

Responsibilities

  • Leading UX and UI Design for Ribbiot’s IoT product offerings – creating personas, workflows, interaction models, and hifi mocks to define the end-to-end user experience for Ribbiot product offerings
  • Working closely with Product Management to identify user needs, define feature requirements, and deliver solutions that meet business and user needs
  • Conducting user interviews to gather input and collect feedback throughout the design process
  • Coordinating with Software Engineering to understand the technical requirements, constraints, and complexities
  • Collaborating with leads across disciplines to clearly communicate design concepts and design intent
  • Mentoring and educating cross-functionally on design processes, practices, and rationale

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience designing interfaces and experiences for software products
  • Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience
  • A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design process and problem solving (applicants without a portfolio will not be considered)
  • A strong aesthetic and visual design sense, with the ability to create visually compelling designs that engage and delight users
  • Extensive experience with user-centered design practices at every stage of the design process
  • Ability to analyze and distill technically complex problems into simple, easy-to-use design solutions
  • Experience conducting user interviews to gather input and feedback to validate proposed design solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate problems and solutions to key stakeholders across disciplines
  • Experience facilitating workshops, brainstorming, and design working sessions across functions

The ideal candidate will additionally possess the following

  • Prior experience working with agile methodologies in a startup environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate abstract requirements into concrete specifications and feature definitions
  • Experience designing solutions for connected devices and IoT products
  • Experience designing low-code/no-code solutions
  • Experience with spatial design and/or working on AR applications
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and other programming languages
  • Familiarity with backend systems (databases/servers)
